SOULS, The Idle Game

What Is SOULS?

Souls, the idle game, is a mobile game made by Habby. It gives players a more relaxing and enjoyable experience with a unique style. The game has reached over a million downloads, and I’m not surprised. Habby really stuck their foot in this game. I’ve been playing it for almost a whole year or probably more. Let me explain to you all why this idle game is awesome.

Before We Dabble In Gameplay…

Yo, this game looks so stunning. The unique art style scratches this itch I’ve been having lately. It’s just really refreshing, so I extremely appreciate that very much. Another thing this game did amazing, is they made a straightforward and easy-to-understand hub. It’s hard for you to get lost in this game because everything is easy to navigate too. Most idle games tend to have that problem where the Home Screen will be covered with a bunch of different pay-to-win options. That honestly gets annoying after a while, so I appreciate them not throwing it constantly in my face.

Now, The Gameplay!!

For this to be an idle game, I have to say, there is a good amount of stuff to do. Unless you are a crazy grinder, you will always have something to do while you’re online. You can grind out the Main Stage, Tower of Souls, Arena, Secret Sanctum, the Dimensional Rift, Cave of Abyss, and Ancestral Tombs. There are thousands of stages to grind, and of course it’s not just grinding for no reason. You’re able to level up the heroes you obtain over time through summons. Leveling up heroes is so easy and doesn’t feel like you need to have an Elon Musk wallet to keep up with your server. Yes, this game is pay-to-win, but every idle game is at some level of pay-to-win. It’s very common for these types of games. There are also guilds in this game and they are important. Guilds and about every other activity outside of the main stage and tower have a shop that is connected to them. Those shops have hero shards in them. If you have a specific hero you want, you will be able to get one a week at least for no problem. They have recently added in these daily explore quests that give a good amount of resources. Yeah, good luck getting bored in this game.

My Experience Playing

When I first started playing the game, I already understood how everything worked. It uses the same basic concepts in power that the majority of games use, just different names. I made some huge rookie mistakes and I felt I needed to start over, so I made a second account on a different server. Take note and look into the tier list of characters in this game. Your team structure is really important for the late game, and having a Babu as my only front line was a horrible choice. Now my team is beyond better than what I had before. I decided to go with the Undead/Elf combo. I get really into this game. It’s in a way kind of addicting, and I love it.

I would love it even more if this game could incorporate live arena battles. People would be able to try out different builds in real-time with other players. I’ve always loved live-action battles in games even though I lose most of them because I’m not going meta.

In Conclusion. 97/100

This is a cool game for any type of player whether it is a casual or a go-hard grinder. There is so much to do and the activities feel like they are never ending and some quite challenging. The game does have a small competitive scene, but it would be amazing if live arenas were a thing. I feel that’s the only thing missing in the game. Everything about the game is wonderfully unique and simple at the same time. My favorite thing about the whole game is the visuals. In my book this game gets a clear 97 out of 100. If you haven’t tried out this idle game yet, I have no clue what you been waiting or what you have been doing this whole time.
